Did you know magnolias produced fruit? Because I sure didn't until last summer! Though I suppose it makes sense since they produce flowers. This is the casing; the actual fruit is orange. Pretty! I wonder if it's edible...This tree grows in Veronika's garden:)

I'm delighted to see this, its solved a mystery of several years! Its amazing how the ripples spread and intersect! I was referred to this by [link] after she found this : [link]
I'm so pleased, and forever in your debt :worship: (both of you! :XD: )

Oh, it's old enough! At least 30 years, because it's there before I can remeber.
There is no other trees of magnolia in nearby, so that is probably reason.
But flowers are wonderfull and huge!

Ah! Yes, our neighbours a few houses down have a very old one. I guess we got a female! What colour are the flowers on yours?

It's a white one.. Very big flowers and gorgeous tree.. And also there is no another magnolia tree in miles, so there is no boy/girl to help..

Hmm, mine's white too, I was wondering whether colour had anything to do with gender, but...
I guess bees don't travel far enough!

No. colour have nothing with gender.
Here where I live now there is few white magnolias in the area and many pink-violet magnolias. They have smaller tree and smaller flowers than those white ones. They are just different kind.
I never seen some other colour than those two.
